Round 1 - YCCA Summer Cyclocross Series.

Opening round of the ever-popular series saw a huge field of almost 100 riders on the start line of the main race. With a strong Crosstrax contingent we were looking good from the off and with out fail we delivered.

Manx end to end

The Manx end to end is a 75 km from the northern most tip of the island to (very nearly) the southern most. Whilst the first 20 km is pretty much flat on the road, its pretty hilly after that with one pretty significant hill straight after you leave the road. In previous years Crosstrax and Kinesis have entered large teams which has made for great racing.

Kielder 100

It was only on the start line at 6:30 am in less than inspiring weather that my slight oversight was revealed - 100 miles really is 160 km, and not ‘just a bit over’ 100 km as I’d been trying to convince myself. This came as a bit of a blow as I was feeling less than confident after a mysterious puking virus earlier in the week.
